Charlie Higson: 'We will have all the old team back together'
Charlie Higson, co-creator of The Fast Show, has announced that the hit ’90s sketch show is to return for a series of episodes to be broadcast online.
The new episodes will air on the web channel Fosters.co.uk, most recently the home of new Alan Partridge webisodes. Speaking about the announcement on his
Twitter account, Higson said:
A lot of you have been asking when we will be bringing The Fast Show back. And if so, when. The answer is “yes – we are bringing The Fast Show back. On November 14.”
He went on to explain that all of the team would return apart from Mark Williams, who declined the offer to recreate his characters.
The show, which ran from 1994 to 1997, was created by, and starred, Paul Whitehouse and Charlie Higson. It featured performances by Caroline Aherne, Arabella Weir, Simon Day, John Thomson and Mark Williams.
Actor Johnny Depp was a huge fan of the show and appeared in the farewell episode, The Last Fast Show Ever, as a customer in the ‘Suits You’ shop. You can relive that clip below.
