‘The Hills’ star Kristin Cavallari pays tribute to brother after he is found dead in rural Utah

'My heart is in a million pieces,' the reality TV star writes on Instagram

The Hills‘ Kristin Cavallari has paid tribute to her late brother after his body was found dead in rural Utah.

Michael Cavallari, 30, a resident of San Clemente in California’s Orange County, had been missing since November 25. Two days later, his abandoned car was found in the Salt Wash View area of Utah, which is located around 200 miles south of Salt Lake City.

Yesterday (December 10) a local sheriff found a dead body three miles from where Michael Cavallari’s car was abandoned on what he described as “a very steep slope, kind of rocky with boulder fields around it”. Kristin Cavallari has now confirmed that it belonged to her brother.

“We have just been informed by the authorities my brother’s body has been found,” she said in a statement to the press including the Los Angeles Times. “This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving.”

Michael Cavallari’s body is now with a local Medical Examiner, who is working to determine the cause of death.

Kristin Cavallari has since paid tribute to her late brother on Instagram, sharing a childhood picture of the pair with the caption: “My heart is in a million pieces,” she wrote. “Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I’m at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much RIP.”
