The League Of Gentlemen stars have hinted the hit comedy series could be set to make a return.
The BBC show came to an end in 2002 after three series across seven years and was followed by a film of the show entitled The League of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse in 2005.
But Mark Gatiss told the Radio Times:
Just as Abba never split up, we just stopped doing it. We’ve always talked about doing something else.
Fellow star Reece Shearsmith added: “I genuinely think the time will come, and not years and years away, when we will reconvene.”
The stars have recently appeared in Psychoville, which Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton created and CBBC hit Horrible Histories. On the latter Pemberton said: “People say it’s a Monty Python for kids and I can really see that. Being playful and daft is a great way to work and great to watch.
“We never did a lot of historical sketches, but doing sketches was how we started, so you can see how we fit into this world.”
