The Mighty Boosh stars reuniting for new project

Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt are set to team up again

The Mighty Boosh stars Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt are set to reunite for a new project.

The pair are reported to be working on fresh ideas, with broadcasters said to be very interested in the new endeavour.

Speaking to the Radio Times, Barratt commented: “We always have good chemistry when we get back together. It’s like [Noel’s] a brother, basically. So you may have times when you fall out but he’s always there.”

Barratt also teased that the ideas he’s working on with Fielding will be “something with a longer arc”.

The pair went on a hiatus after the final Might Boosh area tour in 2009, but Barrett continued to talk of their strong friendship. “We wanted to do other things on our own, so that’s what we’ve done. But you know, we’re always in contact.”

In February, Fielding also hinted that the pair were working together again. Speaking to the Nerdist podcast, he said: “Me and Julian have just started – we sort of had a big break – we never weren’t friends, we carried on being friends … because we live in the same street, so we see each other all the time … and we’ve just recently started thinking we should write something again.”

He continued, “so hopefully this year we’re going to have a crack at something. No idea what … we’re just going to see what happens. We might write a modern dance piece.”

Julian Barratt is set to appear in Channel 4 dark comedy Flowers, alongside Olivia Colman.
