Ricky Gervais will return as the general manager turned music mogul for BBC Comic Relief
Ricky Gervais‘ most famous comedy creation David Brent will be returning in a one-off special for BBC Comic Relief called The Office Revisited.
The episode will see Brent, the cringeworthy ex-general manager of Slough paper merchants Wernham-Hogg, trying to make it in the music industry, but being forced to sell cleaning products door-to-door to fund his dreams.
The Office ran from 2001 to 2003 and was later made into a US version starring Steve Carell. The new programme will see Brent 10 years on trying and failing to make it into the music industry.
Gervais told The Sun: “I thought it was time to revisit my most famous comedy creation to find out what he’s been up to for the last decade and most importantly what he’s up to now. He is passing on his wisdom to younger would-be rock stars now.”
The Office Revisited airs on March 15 as part of BBC Comic Relief. Watch a clip of it below.
