‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 previewed at Comic-Con

Watch first trailer for next instalment of the zombie saga

A trailer for the fifth season of zombie saga The Walking Dead was revealed at San Diego’s Comic-Con. “This is a season that is going to be pretty close to the comics,” said the comic co-creator Robert Kirkman.

Producer Gale Anne Hurd told the hall H crowd at San Diego’s Comic-Con that the fifth season would “take some big leaps with the characters and the set pieces” when it returns for a run of 16 episodes in October this year.

Season four ended with a bloodbath showdown at a sniper protected gated community. With the show set to revisit familiar locations Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his team will face the devious Terminus gang in a bid to try and cure the zombie plague once and for all.

AMC president Charlie Collier said: “In the zombie apocalypse, event television is alive and well, and I am proud to acknowledge that this uniquely talented writing staff, production team, and cast have once again raised the bar (and the crossbow).”

AMC also produced the Emmy award-winning Breaking Bad.
