Zombie saga returns for 16 episode run on FX this autumn
The Walking Dead season 5 shuffles and groans onto our screens this autumn. Two new trailers have been released online.
Producer Gale Anne Hurd says the zombie saga will take some big leaps with its characters and set pieces when it hits UK screens for a 16-episode run on FX from October 13.
The fourth season ended with a bloodbath showdown at a sniper protected gated community. With the show set to revisit familiar locations Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his team will face the devious Terminus gang in a bid to try and cure the zombie plague once and for all.
Speaking at Comic-Con in San Diego last month AMC president Charlie Collier said: “In the zombie apocalypse, event television is alive and well, and I am proud to acknowledge that this uniquely talented writing staff, production team, and cast have once again raised the bar – and the crossbow.”
“Explosive”, “messy”, “brutal” and “thrilling” – the comic’s co-creator Robert Kirkman promised: “This is a season that is going to be pretty close to the comics.”
Grimes leads a group of survivors following an outbreak that has lead to the rise of the undead, know as walkers. Watch the latest trailers below.
