Season six concluded with a cliffhanger ending back in April
The premiere date for the next season of hit US horror series The Walking Dead has been announced.
Season six concluded back in April with a cliffhanger ending that saw an unidentified character being beaten by newly introduced character Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Fox has now confirmed that The Walking Dead season seven will premiere internationally on October 24 after being launched on AMC in the US a day earlier on October 23.
As with previous seasons, the first eight episodes will air weekly before taking a break. The second half of the season will then return in February 2017.

Some fans were so frustrated by the cliffhanger ending of season six that they even started a petition to compel AMC to reveal the character attacked by Negan. So far, the network has not granted their request.
