Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hired to host next two Golden Globes

Comedy duo were a big hit at this year's ceremony, aiming zingers at Ricky Gervais and Taylor Swift

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have signed up to host the next two Golden Globes awards ceremonies.

The US comedy favourites will present next year’s bash at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, LA on January 12, 2014 as well as the 2015 ceremony, whose date has yet to be confirmed. Both ceremonies will be broadcast live on US network NBC, home to the Golden Globes since the late ’50s.

30 Rock‘s Fey and Parks And Recreation star Poehler were a big hit when they teamed up to present this year’s Golden Globes, aiming memorable zingers at Ricky Gervais, James Cameron, James Franco, Bill Clinton and Taylor Swift, who had recently split from One Direction’s Harry Styles. “You know what Taylor Swift, you stay away from Michael J Fox’s son,” Fey quipped.

“Tina and Amy are two of the most talented comedic writer/performers in our business and they were a major reason the Golden Globes was the most entertaining awards show of last season,” NBC’s Paul Telegdy said in a statement. “We’re elated they wanted to host together again and that they committed for the next two years.”

The Golden Globes, generally recognised as the second most prestigious of Hollywood’s annual awards, were shown without a host until 2010. Ricky Gervais then acted as compere three times before Fey and Poehler took over this year.
