‘True Grit’ film-makers Coen brothers to make TV series

Joel and Ethan Coen have been working on a comedy about an LA private detective

The Coen brothers are planning to make their first foray into TV with a comedy series.

Joel and Ethan, the sibling film-makers behind The Big Lebowski, Fargo, No Country For Old Men and True Grit, are developing a single-camera comedy called HarveKarbo.

It’ll be the first time the brothers have worked on the small screen. The series will be centre on Harve, a bad-tempered LA private detective.

His cases include investigating Hollywood scandal, while his private life sees him hanging out with fellow deadbeats in the city’s El Segundo district.

Brian Grazer, of Imagine Entertainment and Imagine TV, apparently lured the Coens to TV, and will be exec-producing along with them.

It’s not yet known when shooting on the series is expected to begin.
