‘The Walking Dead’ confirm plans for another spin-off

"We feel very good about the development of that series"

The creators of The Walking Dead have confirmed that another spin-off is in the works, and show bosses are already in the process of creating new stories.

While three films focusing on the further adventures of Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes have already been confirmed alongside Fear The Walking Dead, AMC CEO Ed Carroll says that storyboards are now being created for a third breakaway series.

“We’re not at a stage where we’ll be announcing its plans to premiere,” he told Deadline.

“But we have hired creative people that have pitched story outlines. We feel very good about the development of that series.”

Carroll added: “We’re not in a position to talk about partnerships in terms of other territories or ancillary windows, other than that there’s a healthy appetite for it and we’ve had a number of conversations with a lot of players in the space.”

Although The Walking Dead has suffered from dwindling ratings, a tenth season is expected to premiere in October 2019.

Meanwhile, it was recently suggested that a crossover between The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad could potentially be in the works.

Seth Gilliam, who plays priest Gabriel Stokes in the zombie drama, suggested that the two could cross paths after show-runner Dave Erickson previously confirmed that they are both set in the same universe.
