An England cricketer sang Adele‘s hit ‘Hello’ live on BBC Breakfast earlier this week, completely oblivious that her microphone had been left on.
Female cricketer Kate Cross had appeared in a previous live segment and her microphone remained on when the camera switched to BBC morning presenters Louise Minchin and Charlie Stayt.
“Hello? Can anyone hear me?” Cross is heard asking over the segment, before belting out the lyrics from Adele’s track: “Hello, it’s me”.
Here it is! The best bit of @katecross16 singing over the next story. @Heatherknight55 @eve_jones11 #HelloItsCrossy pic.twitter.com/qn59YwMfBC

Fellow cricketer Heather Knight later explained in a BBC Sport blog: “The BBC Breakfast presenters also came down for a go live on air, which was pretty cool, and Kate Cross somehow found herself with a stray microphone and, thinking it wasn’t on, decided to belt out a rendition of ‘Hello’ by Adele. It turns out the microphone was on and Crossy made her singing debut live on BBC Breakfast primetime. Sorry, viewers!”
Cross herself later jokingly tweeted: “Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something.”
Watch the unfortunate moment above.
