Watch Eastenders’ Phil Mitchell singing Sia while clearly hating it

Actor Steve McFadden takes on 'Cheap Thrills' on Capital FM Birmingham

Eastenders actor Steve McFadden – known for the role of Phil Mitchell on the BBC soap – has taken on ‘Cheap Thrills’ by Sia for Capital FM Birmingham.

A new clip sees the star begrudgingly reciting the lyrics to the ‘This Is Acting’ hit, while the hosts shout “We love cheap Phils”, a play on his character’s name and the song’s chorus “I love cheap thrills”.

Meanwhile, Sia will release a Deluxe Edition of her ‘This Is Acting’ album on October 21.

The Sean Paul-assisted single version of Sia’s ‘Cheap Thrills’ will also be included, alongside the solo version of the track that appears on the original album. Check out the full track list below.

‘This Is Acting’ was released in January and has so far peaked at Number Three in the UK and Number Four in the US. Sia, an in-demand songwriter as well as a chart-topping recording artist, revealed before its release that the album features songs she had written for, but had rejected by, other artists.

“I’m calling it ‘This Is Acting’ because they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn’t go in thinking ‘this is something I would say’. It’s more like play-acting. It’s fun,” she explained.
