Prepare thyself for the divine plan
The first full trailer for Amazon Prime Video’s Good Omens has arrived. Scroll down to watch it now.
Starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant as the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley, the adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s 1990 novel has been a long time coming.
The heavily hyped series is released May 31 and fans can now finally feast their eyes on the six-part fantasy drama’s first official trailer that sees its main characters embark on an unlikely mission to sabotage Armageddon.
First announced at the beginning of 2017, the creators of Good Omens have since assembled an all-star cast that includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Hamm, Jack Whitehall, Mark Gatiss, Nick Offerman, Derek Jacobi, Anna Maxwell-Martin, Frances McDormand and Sian Brooke.
Soundtracked by Queen‘s ‘Under Pressure’, there’s a lot to unpack after watching the trailer.
Whether it’s the hilarious dialogue between unlikely friends and collaborators Crowley (Tennant) and Aziraphale (Sheen), the Archangel Gabriel (Jon Hamm) who is particularly precious about a pecking order, Sergeant Shadwell (Michael McKean) and Madame Tracy (Miranda Richardson) teaming up to help avert Armageddon, or the 11-year-old Antichrist, Adam Young (Sam Taylor Buck), seen coming into his powers, a potential end of the world scenario has never looked so good.
And how could we forget the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? War (Mireille Enos), Famine (Yusuf Gatewood), Pollution (Lourdes Faberes) and Death (voiced by Brian Cox).
Last year, Neil Gaiman signed an exclusive deal with Amazon Studios, giving the platform first refusal on any TV adaptations of his work. Gaiman praised Amazon for not being afraid to make Good Omens “different.”
Good Omens is set to be released on Amazon Prime Video globally on May 31, 2019, with it being aired on BBC2 some time later.
