Actor discusses shocking ending in the second episode of season six
Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers from the second episode of the sixth season of Game Of Thrones.
Actor Kit Harington has responded to fans after his Game Of Thrones character Jon Snow was brought back to life in the latest episode of the show.
Snow appeared to have been killed off at the end of the last season of the HBO fantasy epic and Harington himself had gone on record as stating that the character would not return.
However, the latest episode of the show saw Snow successfully resurrected by sorceress Melisandre.
“I’d like to say sorry for lying to everyone,” Harington told Entertainment Weekly after the second episode of season six aired on Sunday night (May 1). Scroll below to watch the full interview.
Harington added: “I’m glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, ‘Fine, Jon Snow’s dead.’ But it seems like people had a, similar to the ‘Red Wedding’ episode [when several character were murdered], kind of grief about it. Which means something I’m doing — or the show is doing — is right.”
Meanwhile, the show’s season six premiere recently saw a record number of viewers tune in to Sky Atlantic, with 2.19 million viewers watching the first episode overall.
