James Franco stars in a cut for time SNL sketch parodying cheesy Christmas movies.
The actor recently guest hosted the US comedy show, during which he hosted a spelling bee, and played a very accident-prone gift-wrapper.
Showmakers have now revealed a sketch that didn’t air on his December 9 episode – ‘Hallmark Christmas Channel Promo’. In it, Franco stars as “Canadian handsome” Chris Bearstick, who in turn plays Young Santa in the fake film Yes, Santa.
Later in the sketch, Franco returns in the trailer for a movie about an ice skater who gets amnesia and forgets her routine, but becomes a princess. Under the guise of Bearstick, the actor plays the character of Prince Santa. Watch the clip below.
Meanwhile, Franco is predicted to be in the running for an Oscar nomination for his part in The Disaster Artist, the film about the making of cult movie The Room.
The Disaster Artist also stars Franco’s brother Dave, sister-in-law Alison Brie, and friend Seth Rogen, the latter of whom said he “couldn’t deal” with the actor-director during filming.
Rogen told a post-screening audience at the Director’s Guild Of America earlier this year (October 7) he struggled with Franco staying in character for the duration of the shoot. “I couldn’t deal with it, straight up, for the first two days,” he said. “People would come up and ask me, ‘Where’s James?’ And I was always like ‘He’s right fucking there!’”

He added: “”My grandmother came out and she just did not get what the fuck was happening. She was walking around like, ‘I thought James was in the movie?’ I never explained it to her.”
