The actor slipped back into his role as political spin doctor
Peter Capaldi revived his The Thick Of It character Malcolm Tucker during an appearance on Australian TV.
The actor played the spin doctor on the political sitcom between 2005 and 2012. The show, which was created by Armando Iannucci, ran for four series.
Appearing on The Project, Capaldi was asked what Tucker would have said to Australian politician Kelly O’Dwyer, who recently made headlines for a disastrous interview. “I think he would have said that she was as useless as a marzipan dildo,” he said.
“We’re looking at a total omnishambles there,” he continued, referencing a line from the show. “She was all over the place like a mad woman’s shit. And I’m only getting started.”
Capaldi added: “Where is she now? Should I go and talk to her?” Watch the moment above.
Meanwhile, the actor recently left his role as Doctor Who, with Jodie Whittaker taking over the part and becoming the first woman to do so. In a statement, Capaldi said: ““One of the greatest privileges of being Doctor Who is to see the world at its best.
“From our brilliant crew and creative team working for the best broadcaster on the planet, to the viewers and fans whose endless creativity, generosity and inclusiveness points to a brighter future ahead. I can’t thank everyone enough. It’s been cosmic.”
