Hit series returns to Netflix on June 6
The opening scene from Season 2 of Orange Is The New Black has been revealed. See below to watch.
The scene, which you can see below, shows Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) in solitary confinement following the violent incident which brought the first season to an end in 2013. The Netflix series returns later this year with all 13 episodes of Season Two available to watch via the streaming service in June.
Orange Is The New Black became Netflix’s most-viewed original series debut upon its launch last year. The prison based comedy-drama is based on Piper Kerman’s memoir, Orange Is The New Black: My Year In A Women’s Prison and stars Taylor Schilling, Jason Biggs, Laura Prepon and Kate Mugrew.
Speaking about what fans can expect from Season Two of the show, series creator Jenji Kohan promises fans will get something a bit more serious this time out. “We had a theme for Season Two. A little darker, a little more fractured, she tells Entertainment Weekly. “We wanted to explore the groups one at a time,. It was getting a little summer-campy, and we wanted to address the realities that this is prison.”
Season Two of Orange Is The New Black will be available to Netflix viewers from June 6.
