“We’ve lost the news” – the cast of ‘The Day Today’ reunite for 25th anniversary

Hello you.

Last night saw a special reunion dinner take place to mark the 25th anniversary of The Day Today. See a photo of the cast together again below.

The seminal news satire share first hit TV screens on January 19, 1994, following on from its success as Radio 4’s On The Hour. The series then inspired the spin-off Brass Eye which ran from 1997-2001.

Now, comedian and actor David Schneider has shared a photo of himself among fellow castmembers and writers Armando Iannucci, Chris Morris, Patrick Marber, Rebecca Front, Doon Mackichan and Steve Coogan at a reunion dinner.

More details recently emerged of Chris Morris’ The Day Shall Come. The Brass Eye and Four Lions creator’s new movie will premiere at this year’s SXSW festival.

The movie, which stars Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect), Danielle Brooks (Orange Is The New Black), Denis O’Hare (True Blood) and newcomer Marchánt Davis, is set in Miami in 2013 and tells the story of cash-strapped preacher Moses who is offered money to save his family from eviction.

Meanwhile, Steven Coogan is set to return to our screens shortly in This Time With Alan Partridge later this month. The first trailer for the series arrived last week.
