Will ‘Who Is America?’ return for a second series?

Is series 2 on the horizon?

It’s been seemingly confirmed that ‘Who Is America’ won’t return for another series.

The show, which debuted last month, saw Sacha Baron Cohen donning a series of disguises as he attempted to tackle controversial US figures including Dick Cheney and Roy Moore.

But after attracting fluctuating ratings and mixed reviews, it seems that a second offering isn’t on the table.

“Tonight, is the last EVER show of “Who is America”, Sacha Baron Cohen wrote on Twitter ahead of the show’s finale last night.

Although official confirmation of the show’s cancellation is yet to emerge, Showtime CEO David Nevins previously admitted he was “dying to bring [the show] back.”

Sacha Baron Cohen and OJ Simpson

Meanwhile, the show’s finale saw Baron Cohen attempting to force a murder confession from O.J. Simpson.

In the segment, which was reportedly filmed using hidden cameras, Simpson is interviewed by Gio Monaldo, an Italian billionaire playboy portrayed by Baron Cohen in a ponytail and heavy prosthetics.

“I join a long list of American public personalities who have fallen victim to the evil, exploitive, sick ‘humour’ of the British ‘comedian’ Sacha Baron Cohen, enabled and sponsored by CBS/Showtime,” Palin wrote at the time.
