Youtube star Shane Dawson denies sexually abusing his cat

"I've never done anything weird with my cats. "

YouTube star Shane Dawson has issued an apology online, after a series of unsettling comments about bestiality resurfaced online.

The conspiracy theorist and online star made an ill-judged joke about molesting his pet cat on the Shane And Friends online podcast from several years ago. While they initially went under the surface, Dawson has now said that he was definitely joking, after the comments were discovered once more and led to widespread ridicule.

“I didn’t fuck my cat. I didn’t cum on my cat. I didn’t put my dick anywhere near my cat,” Dawson told his 7.94 million Twitter followers.

“I’ve never done anything weird with my cats. I promised myself I wasn’t going to make apology videos after last years thing so im just trying to be as short and honest with this as possible.”

He added: “I’ve apologized many times for all the dumb shit I’ve said in videos and podcasts over the years. I’ve learned my lesson over and over again and I’m more confident now in my ability to be entertaining by just being myself and not being so shocking for laughs.”

In a series of follow up tweets, Dawson explained how the joke was inspired by a “dumb awful sketch idea.”

Dawson eventually concluded: “I feel like without my past I wouldn’t be who I am today and I wouldn’t be able to grow and spend my energy on things that actually mean something. This has been the best two years of my life & its because I’ve been able to drop the act & be myself. And I’m sorry for not doing it sooner.”

Defending the star, fellow YouTuber Garrett Watts came to his defence and added: “I can tell you that the shock-style comedy of Shane’s past is the least interesting and least genuine side of him.”

“To see what he’s grown into, from what he used to be, has been truly incredible.”
