A new Twin Peaks documentary about the Log Lady is in the works.
Titled I Know Catherine, the Log Lady, the authorized documentary will follow the life of actress Catherine E. Coulson, who sadly passed away in 2015.
Coulson was best known for her role as Margaret Lanterman – the Log Lady – on Twin Peaks but she also performed regularly on stage, completing an unprecedented 22 seasons at the prestigious Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF).
The documentary is directed by Richard Green, who appeared in Lynch’s film Mulholland Drive. It will also include new interviews with Lynch himself, where he’ll be discussing Coulson’s final scenes for last year’s ‘Twin Peaks: The Return’.
Green is currently fundraising for the documentary on Kickstarter where he writes, “Join us today in the making of I Know Catherine, The Log Lady, an authorized documentary celebrating the life of renowned stage, film and TV actress Catherine E. Coulson. A life she dedicated to the arts, the environment, to spirituality, and to her fans, friends, family and daughter.
“With the help of Catherine’s closest friends and David Lynch’s blessing, we, fans and professionals together, are now being given a unique opportunity to tell an inspiring story that will resonate with film, TV and theatre enthusiasts around the world.”
Awards for pledgers include exclusive advanced screenings, postcards, set visits and the chance to be a co or executive-producer for the documentary.
Yesterday (May 21), Chromatics‘ Johnny Jewel released a new album ‘Themes For Television’ to coincide with the one year anniversary of Twin Peaks: The Return.
“I was about a year deep into recording what would become Windswept when I heard that David was making Season three,” said Jewel. “It’s been a year since Chromatics performed at the Roadhouse. With disintegrated memory through the haze of television snow, I wanted to share a glimpse behind the red curtain.”
