Uma Thurman has seemingly confirmed details of Quentin Tarantino‘s next film project.
The director’s former Kill Bill collaborator has confirmed speculation that he is about to make a western style movie called A Southern. This will in turn push back plans for a third film based on her Kill Bill character The Bride.
Thurman told Hollywood Outbreak: “I think he has a script ready to start off a new film, A Southern. I think that’s really exciting. It’s another new story and a fresh piece of material that he is channelling at the moment. So I think Kill Bill lives down the road.”
Tarantino has already spoken of his desire to make the film. He said in 2009: “I’d like to do a western. But rather than set it in Texas, have it in slavery times. With that subject everybody is afraid to to deal with (it).”
“You could do a ponderous history lesson of slaves escaping on the Underground Railroad. Or, you could make a movie that would be exciting. Do it as an adventure. A spaghetti western that takes place during that time. And I would call it A Southern.”
