'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' scene sees Chewbacca step in to help Rey
The Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3D Collector’s Edition Blu-ray has released a deleted scene showcasing Daisy Ridley’s Rey having an argument with Unkar Plutt.
Previous Digital HD and disc releases for the film also contain deleted scenes. In this particular one, Simon Pegg’s Unkar Plutt is seen disagreeing with Rey before Chewbacca interrupts the altercation.
In the original cut of the film, Plutt is left behind when Rey and Finn (John Boyega) escape from Jakku in the Millennium Falcon. You can see the deleted scene via Digital Spy below.
The 3D Collector’s Edition Blu-ray is released on October 31.
Meanwhile, the new trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was released. It provides a deeper insight into the story of protagonist Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and her father, Galen (Mads Mikkelsen), an Oppenheimer inventor figure whose talents are manipulated by the Empire into helping build the Death Star.
It also shows more of the mission Jyn and her band of merry men embark on – but the thing people are really excited about seeing is Darth Vader striding through the smoke towards the villainous Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn).
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first in Disney’s ‘Anthology Series’ of Star Wars spin-off films that will continue in 2018 with the currently untitled Han Solo prequel movie due. It was announced in July that rising star Alden Ehrenreich has been cast as a younger version of the character made famous by Harrison Ford.
A third ‘Anthology series’ film will follow in 2020.
