Florence Welch: “I didn’t know how to live outside of touring”

Florence Welch opens up on the Florence and the Machine 'Austin City Limits' episode

Florence and the Machine’s episode of Austin City Limits airs tomorrow (October 22) in America, with the band performing songs from their back catalogue.

Florence Welch also spoke about her latest album ‘How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful’ topping the Billboard chart, the impact of touring on her life and how she finds performing cathartic.

Two of the songs included in the episode are ‘Shake It Out’ and ‘What the Water Gave Me’. You can watch the interview from the episode below.

Meanwhile, Welch collaborated with Lady Gaga on ‘Joanne’ album track ‘Hey Girl’. Released today, ‘Joanne’ is Lady Gaga’s fifth studio album. It was executively produced by Mark Ronson.

Speaking of ‘Hey Girl’, Lady Gaga said: β€œMe and Florence did a duet together. I started to work on an idea for a song that I really wanted to do with a girl and you’ll see why when you hear the music what the song is about.”

She continued, “She’s really to me, if not the best but one of the greatest vocalists in the world. She’s incredible. I would say the same about the musicianship of Beck, of Father John (Misty), Kevin Parker and Mark Ronson.”
