Pop plays a gun-toting dying rock star called Bill
Iggy Pop is to star in new thriller Blood Orange, directed by Tony Tobias. Set to be released on May 17, Pop plays a dying rock star called Bill.
He lives with his wife Isabelle, played by Kacey Barnfield, in the Spanish countryside. Her vengeful ex Lucas, played by Ben Lamb, arrives on their property, demanding an inheritance he claims she stole from him. As his threats escalate, Bill must take up arms and defend his home and his wife.
The official synopsis says that when it becomes clear that Lucas won’t leave without the money, “Bill prepares to do whatever it takes to keep his wife out of harms way.”
This summer, Iggy Pop is also set to star in Gutterdämmerung, Björn Tagemose’s “loudest silent movie on Earth” that also stars Grace Jones, Henry Rollins, Josh Homme, Jesse Hughes, Justice, Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister, Slash, and more.
Total Chaos: The Story of The Stooges is set to be published through Third Man Books later this year, The Guardian reports.
The book was written by Jeff Gold and contributor Johan Kugelberg who spent two days speaking with Pop at his Miami home. The 300 page book will also include unseen photos plus additional contribrutions from Jack White, Johnny Marr and Joan Jett among others. Watch the trailer for Blood Orange below.
