Watch James Franco get heckled by Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill and Steve Martin during ‘SNL’ monologue

The 'Disaster Artist' star's friends weren't too happy Franco had hosted more times than Rogen

James Franco‘s SNL opening monologue was interrupted by some of his famous friends on last night’s episode (December 9).

The actor, who stars in and directed new movie The Disaster Artist, was the guest host on the US comedy show this weekend. He appeared alongside musical guest SZA.

During his monologue, he took questions from the audience, quickly spotting Seth Rogen in the crowd behind one inquisitive fan. After a brief back-and-forth, Rogen pretended the woman next to him wanted to ask why he had only hosted twice when Franco was on his fourth time leading the show.

Franco countered: “Why don’t you ask Seth why the movies I do on my own, like 127 Hours, get nominated for Oscars? The movies I do with Seth get nominated for stoner awards.”

Jonah Hill then arrived and sat next to Rogen, asking him was hosting. “It’s Franco,” he responded, to which Hill replied: “Oh, Davey Franco?” He then brought up how many times Rogen and Franco have hosted SNL.

Moving on, Franco pointed out Steve Martin sitting in the balcony. “I used to stand on that very spot,” Martin called down to the stage. “I resent it a little bit.”
