Nicolas Cage is still performing angry covers of ‘Purple Rain’ at LA karaoke bars

PURPLE RAIN, GRR...PURPLE RAIN

Another clip has surfaced of Nicolas Cage delivering an almighty rendition of Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ at a Karaoke Bar.

Footage posted on TMZ earlier this week showed the cult actor delivering the cover of Prince’s iconic track at a bar in Koreatown – although his take on the iconic track is a little different to the Purple One’s original version.

Instead of emulating Prince’s silky vocals, Cage is seen practically shouting the legendary track.

Now, it seems that he’s developing quite the reputation for Prince karaoke. In another clip from TMZ, Cage is seen singing the hit once more – and it appears that it’s on an entirely different occasion.

The performance came shortly after Cage’s wife of four days Erika Koike claimed that she was willing to cut ties with the actor – but confirmed that she was seeking spousal support for apparent loss of earnings.

Cage filed for the annulment late last month, with documents stating that the pair had been “drinking to the point of intoxication.”

The actor said that due to his intoxication, he “lacked understanding” and “reacted on impulse without the ability to recognise or understand the full impact of his actions.”

He added that Koike did not tell him about “the full nature and extend of her relationship with another person” and that “such conflict in personalities and dispositions that are so deep as to render the two incompatible in marriage.”

The cult actor has become a beloved figure online in recent years – leading to a phenomenon dubbed “Cage Rage” that sees clips of the actor being placed in out-of-context scenarios.
