On Friday (March 25) Batman and Superman will square off in the hotly anticipated superhero flick Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice when it’s released to cinemas worldwide. Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and more were all on hand to celebrate the release of the forthcoming film at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on Sunday night (March 20).
Ben Affleck (Batman) and Henry Cavill (Superman) were in good spirits at the premiere of their new superhero flick Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. The film will see the two characters square off for the first time on the big screen.
The film will be Ben Affleck's first chance to don Batman's black suit, but he's set to play the character again in 2016's Suicide Squad, two upcoming Justice League films due in 2017 and 2019 and is rumoured to star and direct in an upcoming standalone Batman film. Busy times for the new Dark Knight.
Henry Cavill has played Superman once before in 2014's Man Of Steel. He too is set to reprise the role in DC's forthcoming Justice League flicks.
Jesse Eisenberg appear's as the film's proper villain, uber-git businessman Lex Luthor, who Batman and Superman might get round to dealing with once they've had a pop at each other.
After the stars walked down the black carpet they were greeted by a bar bearing the name of Lex Luthor's fictional company, LexCorp, as well as a rather menacing portrait of Eisenberg as the villain.
Will Smith was there to welcome both Batman and Superman down the black carpet. Later this year, Smith will star in DC's upcoming comic book ensemble film Suicide Squad, playing the character of Deadshot alongside Batman, Superman and Jared Leto as The Joker.
Cavill and Affleck played up their rivalry for the cameras at the premiere, with Cavill telling USA Today reporters that "Batman’s got an attitude problem". We're sure that the pair will straighten this out.
Also present was Gal Gadot, who plays Wonder Woman in the new film. Gadot worked as a model in the past, and completed two years of service in the Israeli military. She'll fit just into the role of Wonder Woman just fine, then.
Gadot, Affleck, Cavill and Eisenberg were also joined by several co-stars on the night. This included Diane Lane who plays Superman's adoptive mother (far left), Amy Adams who reprises her role as reporter Lois Lane (center) and Holly Hunter who stars as a United States Senator in the film (far right).
