Haim, producer Ariel Rechtshaid and thousands of adoring fans watched the Killers’ frontman play songs form new album ‘The Desired Effect’ for the first time on British soil…
Brandon Flowers played his first UK date since releasing his new solo album 'The Desired Effect' in London last night (May 21).
The Killers' frontman returned to the O2 Academy Brixton, where he's performed many times with his band. He'll return for a second night at the same venue this evening (May 22).
Flowers' adoring audience greeted new tunes like 'Can't Deny My Love' with almost as much passion as Killers classics 'Mr Brightside', 'Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine' and 'Read My Mind'.
Flowers is currently in pole position to take the Number One spot in this week's Album Charts, although Paul Weller is giving him a run for his money.
At Brixton, Flowers wore a silver jacket over tight black jeans and T-shirt - part rock star, part Vegas showman.
Flowers was joined by former Pretenders frontwoman Chrissie Hynde for two songs - her hit 'Don't Get Me Wrong' and their new duet 'Between Me And You'. The singer also invited his wife and two sons onstage before playing 'Still Want You', which he dedicated to Tana, his wife.
Producer Ariel Rechtshaid and members of Haim were among fans watching the performance.
Flowers was backed by an eight-piece band, including a backing chorus, who gave his new material an Eighties sheen and reworked his Killers hits.
