Eminem has headlined day two of this year's Reading Festival. The rapper took to the Main Stage and opened his set with 'Survival'.

The star - real name Marshall Mathers - took to the stage 15 minutes later than scheduled, wearing a camouflage print jacket, baseball cap and cut-off shorts.

Eminem was making his return to the festival after a 12 year gap, and was joined by an eight-piece band and a hype man, Mr Porter.

Midway through the set, Mr Porter pointed out a girl in the audience who was looking worse for wear, prompting him to ask the crowd, "How many people are as fucked up as this girl right now?"

Eminem continued this topic, telling his fans, "Obviously, Reading, I can't get fucked up with you all. I know that's fucked up. But can I take you back to when I did get fucked up?"

He then proceeded to play his 1999 single 'My Name Is' to huge cheers before segueing into the Dr Dre-featuring 'The Real Slim Shady'.

The rapper and his band then bounded into 'Without Me' without pausing. As they left the stage for the first time, Mr Porter exclaimed, "Fuck man, I think this is the loudest crowd we've ever had."

Earlier in the set, Dido had joined Eminem on stage following a cryptic Instagram post earlier in the afternoon. She arrived on stage unannounced as 'Stan' kicked in and the track ignited the first massive singalong of the set.

As Eminem rapped the line "I got your name tattooed on my chest," he lifted his t-shirt to show his bare flesh. At the end of the song, he told the crowd, "Make some noise for Dido, y'all," before hugging her as she left the stage.

Eminem returned for an encore at the end of his set. He played 'Lose Yourself' before leaving the stage for the night.
