“It’s great being back home,” frontman Caleb Followill told the crowd at one point, recalling how the band had first found fame in the UK.
The group played a career-spanning set, which began with ‘The Bucket’, from their second album ‘Aha Shake Heartbreak’.
They also played a number of tracks from the new record, including singles ‘Waste A Moment’ and ‘Around The World’.
The gig wasn’t without hiccups – during ‘Radioactive’, Matthew Followill’s guitar stopped working and had to be replaced.
Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page joined eager fans at the show, watching the gig from a fenced off enclosure by the mixing desk.
The legendary guitarist has been spotted at many of the Nashville band’s shows over the years.
During the encore, the group responded to a request from the audience and played ‘Because Of The Times’ track ‘Arizona’.
The gig closed with the band’s biggest hit, ‘Sex On Fire’.
Kings Of Leon will return to the UK in February for five arena shows. The run of dates will be their first UK tour since 2014.
