London 2012 – Olympic Closing Ceremony In Photos

Believe it or not, it’s been three whole years to the day since the London Olympics 2012 closed in an extravagant bang with performances from Muse, Ray Davies, The Who, Kaiser Chiefs, Pet Shop Boys, and other acts. Look back at the action with these nostalgia-inducing pics.

Billed as a celebration of 50 years of British music, it saw The Spice Girls entered the stadium from specialised black taxi cabs – each with a ‘Spice’ numberplate.

The Closing Ceremony honoured the volunteers. The President of the International Olympic Committee , Jacques Rogge stated: “We will never forget the smiles, the kindness and the support of the wonderful volunteers, the much-needed heroes of these Games.”
