The Cribs, headliners of the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour 2008, hit Leeds University Refectory on February 2, 2008. The band were to be later joined onstage by guitar legend Johnny Marr for a rendition of The Smiths classic 'Panic'.

This picture of Gallows was taken as part of a fashion shoot for Front magazine. The person in the body bag is actually photographer Danny North's assistant, and the pic was taken in the middle of the woods in Tunbridge Wells. After this shot was taken, Gallows frontman Frank Carter got chased by a big hornet.

Danny only managed to shoot three frames of this scene before the flare went out - he'd been sat on the grass too long and getting across to the take pictures had been hampered by a "dead leg"â
Photographer Danny North spent the whole of the Kaiser Chiefs' Pyramid Stage set at Glastonbury 2007 shooting pictures from the wings. He revealed: "This image landed me the chance to tour with the band as their photographer."

This Beth Ditto picture, taken for an NME shoot on October 30, 2006, was shot backstage at the Carling Academy 2 in Liverpool, just before the band exploded on to the music scene in the UK. The banana in the shot has absolutely no significance. "Everyone always asks why it's there but it was just part of the band's rider," said photographer Danny North.
This picture of Middle Man was taken for Sandman Magazine on April 11, 2007. Photographer Danny remembers that it was a freezing cold day in the sea at Scarborough in Yorkshire, and that seconds after he took this shot the water sprayed all over himself and his camera. Both survived.
