The band say of their new release: “Our third album is adventurous like its journey from Bethnal Green synagogue via the Thames riverbank across the Atlantic, the United States and all manner of Los Angeles neon-lighted highways. But it is unmistakably Noah and the Whale.”

Charlie Fink told the Guardian that when writing this album, he was influenced by Lou Reed’s 1973 album ‘Berlin’: “Just people songs…I do feel that lyrically it was a leap forward for me. It was writing out of my comfort zone, writing in a new style, with new subjects.”
“I’ve never once played this album on my speakers at home,” Fink told the Guardian. “I listen to it on headphones. I get embarrassed playing it out loud. I find listening to my own vocals quite difficult sometimes.”
