Hot Chip, Super Furry Animals and Bastille were all highlights at this year’s Festival No.6, but there was nothing quite like the moment when Paul Weller joined Noel Gallagher onstage. The former Oasis guitarist was at the top of the bill on the last day of the Welsh festival, now in its fifth year, and he wowed the crowd with a mix of Oasis material, High Flying Birds material, and – alongside Weller – a couple of songs by The Jam. See all the action below…
It's Noel! Along with his High Flying Birds he closed Festival No 6 with an 18-song set.
It was a bit blue to begin with as Noel opened with 'Everybody's On The Run'.
Noel stormed through the setlist, which also included 'Lock All The Doors', 'Champagne Supernova' and 'Talk Tonight'.
Catch! Drummer Chris Sharrock throws his drumstick up in the air.
After 'The Masterplan', Noel addressed the crowd: "I don't fucking believe I'm about to say this. Paul Weller's going to join me on stage."
They launched into The Jam's 1980 track 'Pretty Green', on which Noel sang backing vocals for Paul.
After that they played 'A Town Called Malice' together: this time, a duet.
Job well done.
As the rain came down, Noel finished off with the one-two punch of 'Wonderwall' and 'Don't Look Back In Anger'.
At the end of it all, his kids joined him onstage while balloons and confetti fell from the sky.
