LA’s Red Hot Chili Peppers were triumphant as they headlined the Main Stage at Reading last night for the fourth time.
Red Hot Chili Peppers' headlined Reading Festival last night (August 27), making their return to Richfield Avenue for the first time in nine years.
The LA group played some of their greatest hits and songs from new album 'The Getaway' during the performance.
The biggest crowd of the weekend so far turned out to hear the likes of 'Scar Tissue', 'Can't Stop' and 'Around The World'.
While Chili Peppers didn't say too much as they closed out the second day of the festival, Flea and Anthony Kiedis managed to lower the tone with a conversation about when they last "shit their pants".
Guitarist Josh Klinghoffer added some Kurt Cobain-style backing vocals to the band's sound, making his mark instead of imitating his predecessor John Frusciante.
Frontman Kiedis was at his best, giving all of his conviction to 'Under The Bridge' and 'By The Way'.
Klinghoffer and drummer Chad Smith kicked off the encore with a jam session, which also included an excerpt of Queen's 'We Will Rock You'.
One fan in particular was fully prepared for the occasion, dressing appropriately for the set.
The band closed on 'Give It Away' before saying goodbye to the Reading crowd until next time.
