It was a wet weekend, but that didn’t detract from the fun in Austin, Texas this weekend as fans of spacey wig-out sounds descended on Levitation presented by Austin Psych Fest for sets from the likes of Lightning Bolt, DIIV and, returning with new album material, Tame Impala…
Tame Impala gave another glimpse into their new album at Levitation presented by Austin Psych Fest over the weekend, debuting new track 'Eventually' to a rain-sodden crowd. Here's Kevin Parker looking typically mellowed-out as the Aussie heroes glided through a rapturously received headline set.
Record rainfall fell on Carson Creek Ranch Wednesday forcing festival organisers to drastically reconfigure the site, working round the clock in the 48 hours prior to the show opening. The wet weather did not deter an estimated 10,000 fans from seeing the Perth band though.
On before Impala were space-rock masterminds Spiritualized, with a characteristically out of this world hit-filled set of songs spanning their entire career.
Also in attendance were the mighty Metz, tearing through songs from new album 'METZ II'. Here they are, in all their sweaty glory.
Suit of the weekend? Look no further than Mini Mansions with a floral effort right out of the 'nan's curtains' school of fashion. Total dudes.
More Mini Mansions.
Here's the view from the stage as noise duo Lightning Bolt brought their thunderous drum 'n' bass ruckus to Austin.
Eat your heart out, Slipknot - Lightning Bolt's mask game is the GOAT 4 real.
Another highlight of the weekend - DIIV, whose new album 'Is the Is Are' is both one of the most anticipated and most confusingly titled of 2015. Their set was blistering as usual.
