Beyonce's publicist has dismissed internet rumours that the star is faking her pregnancy, calling the accusations “stupid, ridiculous and false.” Yvette Noel-Schure gave a statement in response to the fast-spreading conspiracy theory, which claims that Beyonce's baby bump is a prosthetic, covering up for the "fact" that the singer has enlisted a surrogate mother to give birth to her first child.
Former Weezer bassist Mikey Welsh died of a suspected drug overdose, according to authorities. A report in the Chicago Tribune claims that police found prescription drugs and a bag of white powder believed to be heroin in Welsh’s hotel room and, although the official cause of his death is still to be determined, they suspect narcotics were involved.
Damon Albarn has said he'd like to make Blur's 1995 album 'The Great Escape' into a musical. The Gorillaz man, who recently wrapped up his opera 'Dr Dee' in Manchester, said he is looking into creating his first production on his old band. "'The Great Escape' I've always thought that could be a great musical," he said.

Pete Doherty could be forced to pay out hundreds of thousands of pounds in compensation after church worker Christopher Corder won the right to sue him over a car crash in 2009. The incident involved Doherty and his manager Andrew Boyd and took place in Hadleigh in Suffolk. Boyd was driving Doherty's car and collided with Corder, leaving him severely injured and with a high level of brain damage.

Two concerts have been announced in Liverpool to mark the 10th anniversary of late Beatle George Harrison's death. The Vaccines have announced the release of their new double-A side single, which features a song produced by Albert Hammond Jr of The Strokes. ‘Wetsuit’/‘Tiger Blood’ will be released on December 4 on 7” and as a download. ‘Tiger Blood’ was recorded during the summer with Hammond Jr at the studio he owns in rural upstate New York.

The Muppets will cover Nirvanas 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' as part of the soundtrack for their new movie. Television Personalities frontman Dan Treacy is critically ill and receiving treatment in hospital, NME has been told. The cult singer-songwriter is currently receiving treatment in intensive care after undergoing major surgery to remove a blood clot to his brain, and has been in an induced coma for the last 48 hours.
