Alexisonfire are to split after ten years together. In a statement posted on the band's official website, lead vocalist George Pettit announced the decision after guitarists Dallas Green and Wade MacNeil quit. The band are planning a final tour in their native Canada and "several special releases" to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong has been granted a restraining order against former Massive Attack singer Shara Nelson. Ryan Adams is set to release a brand new album, ‘Ashes & Fire’, on October 10. Recorded at Hollywood's Sunset Sound Factory, the album was produced by Glyn Johns who has worked with Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Who and The Rolling Stones. Norah Jones sings backing vocals on a number of songs on the album, including 'Come Home', 'Save Me' and 'Kindness'.
