Lady Gaga has revealed the title of her new album. Tweeting 'new ink, new album', the singer showcased a photo of her new tattoo 'ARTPOP'. She added: "Make sure when writing about my new album/project ARTPOP that you CAPITALIZE the title it's all in the details."

Mumford & Sons unveiled new track 'I Will Wait'. Produced by 'Sigh No More' collaborator Markus Dravs, the song is the first single from new album 'Babel', released September 24. Speaking about the record, the band said "we feel that this record is a natural progression that we're proud of, and we cannot wait to take it out on the road."


Elton John has lashed out at Madonna. He lambasted the 'Girl Gone Wild' singer on Australian television, declaring that 'she's a fairground stripper and her career is over'.

Mike 'Tubular Bells' Oldfield has admitted that he wasn't familiar with his Opening Ceremony counterparts, telling NME- 'I'd never heard of Arctic Monkeys before the Olympics'. The composer was also unaware of Emeli Sande and Dizzee Rascal, but thought that the Opening Ceremony "in its entirety was a triumph".

Blur have hinted at producing more new material. Damon Albarn told the Sun 'we'd be interested in making a new album'. However, the record would only happen if it was linked with a film, he warned.

Lil Wayne has announced that he's tired of rapping, and will be focusing on managing and skateboarding from now on. "My artists are doing awesome; I believe the fans deserve some peace from me, so I'll be on my skateboard in the meantime", he explained.


Amy Winehouse's ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil is in a coma following a drink binge. The 30 year old was brought to hospital with multiple organ failure. Fielder-Civil's partner Sarah Aspin stated "I'm praying he’ll survive, but I'm having to prepare myself that he may never wake up."


Joe Strummer's former manager has told NME that The Clash 'never reformed because of the Sex Pistols'. She explained that every time Strummer would gather up the group, the Sex Pistols would announce that they too had reformed. She went on "Joe – insecure as he was – had quite a big ego, and he just couldn't reform The Clash on the tail of the Sex Pistols."


The family of the late R&B singer Aaliyah have said that they are not supporting the release of a new posthumous album. Earlier this week Drake revealed an posthumous duet with the singer titled 'Enough Said'.


One Direction have sold more records than Arctic Monkeys, Noel Gallagher and Mumford & Sons combined. According to the Sun, the boyband have now flogged 12 million records in less than a year.

Beyonce has begun work on her new album. Knowles is said to be working with Kanye West, and Jay-Z's producer Hit-Boy. It will be her fifth studio album, and the first since the birth of baby Blue Ivy.


Thanks to the success of the novel, a 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' album to be released. The LP will feature classical music inspired by the book. Says author EL James: "I am thrilled that the classical pieces that inspired me while I wrote the Fifty Shades trilogy are being brought together in one collection for all lovers of the books to enjoy."

Noel Gallagher says his Amorphous Androgynous collaboration album may never be released. Gallagher explained that "I’m not happy with any of the mixes. They’re going backward and forward so then the plan was to get mixing done after the tour, but this tour has gone on so long that there’s been no time, and that means looking at it next year. But by then I fear the moment may have passed."


Ever the gent, Kanye West has written a new song about girlfriend Kim Kardashian, titled 'Perfect Bitch'. The track contains a sample from German composer Carl Orff's 1937 composition 'Carmina Burana'.

Incubus have announced that they are to go on hiatus after summer tour. Lead singer Brandon Boyd told Billboard: "I have been tinkering around, potentially, with a second solo record. That's probably the most likely scenario. But as far as Incubus right now, we'll probably take another break."


Metallica, Blink-182, Paramore to unite for Soundwave Festival 2013. Linkin Park, Garbage and the Offspring are also confirmed for the travelling Australian festival. Also confirmed to include Paramore, A Perfect Circle, Tomahawk, Stone Sour, Kyuss Lives and Anthrax.
