Ryan Reynolds Is In His Own ‘Honest Trailer’ Parody

If there’s one foul-mouthed superhero you don’t want to piss off, it’s Deadpool. But then again, film commentary web-series Honest Trailers isn’t exactly known for making nice with the characters.

The snarky voiceover guy has, in the past, called Harry Potter villain Voldemort “an evil noseless freak” and called all-round nice hobbit Frodo Baggins from Lord Of The Rings “an invisible crack addict.” Now it’s Ryan Reynolds (aka Deadpool)’s turn. The only difference is he’s fighting back.

Yup, in a first for the hugely successful web-series, the lead actor (in this case Reynolds) appears in the parody of his own film. And sarcasm levels reach a whole new level of sass.

Candid as ever, the “wisecracking, indestructible psychopath” admits he’s only there because the film “is now out on Blu-ray and DVD blah blah blah, like anyone still buys those glorified drinks coasters anymore.” But if you loved Mr Pool’s cutting tirades as much as we did, then you won’t care. You’ll just be happy the Internet gods have blessed us with more.

The Merc’ with a Mouth certainly isn’t too smiley though. Taking issue with Honest Trailers labelling the movie a “by the numbers revenge plot”, he lets the narrator have it. Pointing out that Deadpool is “the highest grossing R-rated movie of all time, except for Jesus [The Passion Of The Christ],” our twisted protagonist then declares himself “way too big of a deal to be slumming it in some played-out web-series.” Ouch.

There’s plenty more where that came from too. Just watch the clip below for yourself.
