The Wind May Howl
A band who’ve turned gestation into an art form, seven years spent dicking around has yielded The Monks Kitchen six songs. Essentially The Coral donning a tea-cosy in a bookshop, they’re rooted in the past: the Velvets at their drowsiest (‘Snake Charmer’), or The La’s at their most lo-fi (‘Bringing Hurricanes’). Contenders for 2014’s greatest album? Very possibly.
