Jarvis and co release your inner child
Growing up: it’s tragically unavoidable. One minute you’re climbing trees, the next you’re having awkward conversations in lifts. The world is cruel. However, Tindersticks have curated an album to reignite the magic of childhood for us all. With contributions from members of Belle & Sebastian, The Go-Betweens and Jarvis Cocker it seems anyone who’s anyone is regressing this spring. The dreamy ‘White Horses’, sung by Cerys Matthews, is hauntingly beautiful, while Bonnie Prince Billy’s lo-fi ‘Puff, The Magic Dragon’ captures the bittersweet story perfectly. But the problem is, how many times can you listen to a children’s choir without it starting to sound creepy? So, all very nice for a bit, but if it’s the spirit of rock’n’roll you’re after, look elsewhere.
