Duels

Regeneration

Anybody who yearns to hear a heartbreaking articulation of the peculiar loneliness that comes with living in a major city should seek out Duels’ ‘The Slow Build’ and buy several copies. After digesting said multiple purchase, you might be a little surprised by the fuzzy glam-rock stomper that is ‘Regeneration’ – we’d call it Glitter Band-esque but we don’t want anybody getting their house burned down. Sadly, it’s a tad directionless at times and the quiet bit seems to stem from a lack of ideas, but it rocks out majestically at its end. Besides, the album’s fucking spiffo.
