We’re all doomed, don’t you know. But despair not, because Boston’s [a]Chris Korda[/a] is here to save us. Or rather Reverend [a]Chris Korda[/a]. Cross-dressing Chris, you see, is head of the Church Of Euthanasia, an educational foundation devoted to restoring the balance between humans and the remaining species on Earth through voluntary population reduction.
The Church‘s one commandment is ‘thou shalt not procreate’, which involves sex purely for pleasure and by having abortions if necessary. Members support cannibalism (it reduces the population), sodomy and, naturally, suicide. The good Reverend holds ‘foetus barbecues’ outside supermarkets and has appeared on Jerry Springer. And you thought there were no interesting pop stars any more…
The thing is, Chris also makes excellent techno records, albeit ones imbued with his ‘messages’ – ‘Save The Planet, Kill Yourself’, ‘Sex Is Good’ – and this, aside from being a comprehensive guide to his masterplan, is a collection of his singles to date. So when he’s not assaulting sperm banks with a 15ft fake penis, Korda crafts minimalist tech-funk odysseys like ‘Zeal’, while Munich’s Chicks On Speed and DJ Hell even drop by for a dose of organised religion. It’s quite a party.
So good, in fact, that you almost forget he’s barking mad.
