It’s like every Victoria Park festival ever just landed on each other and started having passionate, electro-flecked sex. It couldn’t get more East London if punters were shuttled from nearby tube stations on tiny bicycles and served all their burgers in man-buns.
But… how? It’s a brand new 10-day event brought to you by the people behind Coachella. The first weekend comprises a three-day festival featuring The xx, LCD, Bjork, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the like, then there are a bunch of free midweek ‘In The Neighbourhood’ events on the site, like cinema and street food pop-ups, before another three days of stand-alone shows headlined by Catfish & The Bottlemen, The National and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. Plus handpicked support bills to die for.
So kind of British Summer Time but really, really brilliant? And not a whiff of Michael Buble.
