2022 is starting to really ramp up when it comes to game releases, and one of the biggest and most anticipated of the first run is ‘Dying Light 2 Stay Human’, which has been years in the making. It seems that developer Techland is already promising much more to come after release, as it’s announced a post-launch roadmap.
Hot on the heels of the announcement that Microsoft is acquiring Activision Blizzard, there were many questions about anti-competition laws, and more specifically, what this record breaking deal would mean for hugely popular franchises like ‘Call of Duty’ While PlayStation came out saying it would expect Xbox to honour deals in place, we really had no idea what that actually meant… until now.
We are getting ever closer to the ‘Elden Ring’ release date of February 25th, and as such the developer FromSoftware is starting to talk more about the title, to aid the marketing push. It seems that the producer Yasuhiro Kitao has revealed how long the game will take to finish, though it’s only if you mainline the story and ignore most of the side content.
As the first big PlayStation exclusive of 2022, they don’t usually come much bigger than the ‘Uncharted’ series, as ‘Legacy of Thieves’ is bundling together both ‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ and ‘Uncharted: The Lost Legacy’ into one package, will upgrades and additions relevant to the PlayStation 5, and it seems you won’t have to start over again if you don’t want to.
While much of the gaming world is focused on the deluge of massive game releases coming in February like ‘Horizon Forbidden West’, ‘Dying Light 2 Stay Human’, and ‘Elden Ring’, Valve is throwing its hat into the ring with the launch of the Steam Deck, a Nintendo Switch like handheld device that can also be docked, and is a fully fledged PC in your hands. Just ahead of launch, Valve has detailed a new feature for Steam Cloud called “dynamic cloud sync” which is designed to help with the fact people will likely suspend their game on Steam Deck without fully closing it.
Due for release on February 4th, ‘Dying Light 2 Stay Human’ is one of the first huge releases coming to consoles and PC of 2022. It’s been in development for a few years now, but one of the most surprising things about it is that it was also supposedly coming to Nintendo Switch, despite looking pretty high-end, visuals wise. Well that version is in fact going to be running via the cloud, and it’s just been delayed by six months.
Around a week ago NME brought you the news that a patch was in the works to fix the big team battle mode of ‘Halo Infinite’. Well, since then that patch has passed submission, been release and… not worked. It seems developer 343 Industries isn’t having much luck of late, because it seems despite a hotfix being deployed, it still hasn’t made meaningful improvements.
After the announcement that Microsoft is acquiring Activision Blizzard for 50billion pounds (or 68billion US Dollars) the biggest questions have been about the publisher’s leadership, but also whether blockbuster games like ‘Call of Duty’ will still be released on PlayStation consoles in the future, and it seems Sony has thoughts on this matter.
