AC/DC beat Paul Weller to albums chart Number One

Rockers' 'Iron Man 2' soundtrack overcomes 'Wake Up The Nation'

AC/DC have hit Number One in the UK albums chart tonight (April 25).

‘Iron Man 2 – Official Soundtrack’ – a career-spanning compilation of 15 songs – beat Paul Weller‘s ‘Wake Up The Nation’ in a closely-fought battle.

It is the veteran rockers’ third UK Number One album following ‘Back In Black’ in 1980 and 2008’s ‘Black Ice’, according to the Official Charts Company.

Other new entries in the album chart included Meat Loaf‘s ‘Hang Cool Teddy Bear’ at Number Four and Kate Nash‘s ‘My Best Friend Is You’ at Number Eight.

In the official singles chart, 2008 X Factor semi-finalist Diana Vickers hit Number One with her debut single ‘Once’.
