Matt Cardle defends his 'X Factor' Biffy Clyro cover
'I'm hoping that I've done it justice,' he says
The X Factor winner Matt Cardle has spoken about his cover of Biffy Clyro's 'Many Of Horror' - saying he hopes he's "done it justice".
The singer, who won the talent show on Sunday night (December 12), is expected to top the UK charts with his version of the track, retitled as 'When We Collide'.
"I know there are some Biffy fans that are like, 'What have you done to that song?'" he told BBC Newsbeat. "It's a great song. I'm hoping that I've done it justice."
Cardle also referenced the Facebook campaign to get Biffy Clyro's original version of the song to Number One instead, saying: "If that happens then great - it's a great song."
So far over 35,000 people have joined the group.
Earlier this year Biffy Clyro frontman Simon Neil spoke to NME about The X Factor and Simon Cowell, saying the show is "for the kind of people who buy fucking Robbie Williams calendars".
